Once you have created the plan or chart
for your web site, create a written specifications document for your web
site. This will be the blueprint for your site. The items your blueprint
should contain are:
- A list of categories,
or keywords your site should be listed in in search engines.
- What information will
be on each page of the site. (Text, photos, graphics, charts, etc.)
- Information about your
targeted visitors, and how your would like to attract them to the
site.
- A list of other
Internet sites you would like to have your site linked to,
Suppliers, Associations, Clubs, Organizations, Regional sites. Look
who your competitors are linking to.
- Who will update the
page, and how often.
- Will you be accepting
orders, and or taking Credit Card Payments. If so, you need a secure
server.
- List needed forms.
Create a rough draft of the general
layout of the site and how the information will flow. Navigation is
important!
