Idaho Falls Climate

Idaho Falls enjoys a semiarid alpine climate. Summers are long and mild, perfect for outdoor activities so abundant in this area.  Hikers, fisherman, bikers, photographers, horse back riders, river floaters... all benefit from clear sunny skies and warm days. The dry nature of the region tends to take the "sting" out of extreme hot or cold temperatures. Summer daytime humidity averages 28%. Nights are refreshingly cool. (July nighttime temperatures average in the low 50's, adding to the pleasant atmosphere. July daytime temperatures average in the mid 80's, perfect for swimming and barbecues

Winters are comparatively long, but not too severe. Idaho Falls' location, on the warmer valley floor, keeps the snows from presenting major transportation problems. The nearby mountains attract the majority of the snowfall, providing outstanding winter recreational opportunities. Average January daytime temperature is 27 degrees, down to an average 10 degrees at night.
